Thank you for visiting our team fundraising page! With your help, we can help The Huntington's Disease Society of America (HDSA) achieve their mission to improve the lives of everyone with Huntington’s Disease (HD) and their loved ones.
The Maine affiliate chapter of HDSA is having their annual Team Hope walk. For the second year, I have formed, Team Queen Victoria in honor of my daughter, who suffers from Huntington's Disease.
Queen Victoria has issued a royal decree for her subjects to join her and participate in the Maine Team Hope Walk on Sunday, October 14, 2019 at Ellsworth High School. If you can't physically walk, then please consider, being a Virtual walker or donating in Victoria's honor.
HDSA has been an important resource in helping our family deal with HD. Huntington’s disease is a fatal genetic progressive neurological disorder. It affects physical, cognitive and emotional/social abilities. There is currently no cure but there exciting research going on and there seems to be hope for the future.
Victoria uses a wheelchair most of the time for mobility, she needs assistance with all of self care and uses communication device due to severe speech issues. Despite all of these challenges, she continues to have a positive outlook on life and enjoys being around people and doing many activities. She would love to to have you push her wheelchair on our walk.
