Thank you for visiting our Team fundraising page!

Team Anita was started to honor Anita Green, who was diagnosed with HD in 2003.  She is one of 6 siblings, 2 of which are brothers Mike and Chris, who lost their battle with HD previously.  Anita has 4 children, 3 older sons and a baby daughter.  As our Mother continues her fight, we found this event and decided to go after it in full force.  And while little can be done for Anita’s condition, we have to bring awareness and fund the research so that we can impact the lives of Anita’s children, and her grandchildren. We fight in memory of all the victims of HD in effort to brighten the future for others!

Huntington’s disease is a fatal genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. It deteriorates a person’s physical and mental abilities during their prime working years and has no cure.

HD is known as the quintessential family disease because every child of a parent with HD has a 50/50 chance of carrying the faulty gene. Today, there are 30,000 symptomatic Americans and more than 200,000 at-risk of inheriting the disease.
