Thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page! With your help, we can help HDSA achieve their mission to improve the lives of everyone with Huntington’s disease and their loved ones.

My sister Barbara has recently been diagnosed with Huntington's Disease, HD.  With this diagnosis comes emotions that are, quite honestly, all over the place. Sadness, Fear, and Guilt are three that are quite prevalent.  These emotions affect everyone and can certainly be painful at times.  BUT, because of our LOVE and SUPPORT for each other, our family will take on HD, with our boxing gloves on and FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!!

Research is not only looking for Treatments but is intending on finding a CURE!!  So we need your help so that this can all happen sooner rather than later and hopefully the next generation will help shut HD down.

On Sunday, November 4th, 2018 Team Hope will be hosting their annual Walk at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia.  We would love for you to join our team and BE BRAVE WITH BARB

Please walk with us by joining our team and help make a difference! If you cannot walk with us, please consider making a donation to our team fundraising page by clicking the ‘Support Me’ button at the top of this page.  You can also create your own page under the Team.  Either way everyone will be part of the Be Brave with Barb Team.

Huntington’s disease is a fatal genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. It deteriorates a person’s physical and mental abilities during their prime working years and has no cure.

HD is known as the quintessential family disease because every child of a parent with HD has a 50/50 chance of carrying the faulty gene. Today, there are 30,000 symptomatic Americans and more than 200,000 at-risk of inheriting the disease.

The Huntington’s Disease Society of America is the premier nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of everyone affected by HD.  From community services and education to advocacy and research, HDSA is the world’s leader in providing help for today and hope for tomorrow for people with HD and their families.

Across the United States, HDSA currently supports:
•54 volunteer led Chapters & Affiliates
•43 Centers of Excellence
•70+Social Workers
•170+ Support Groups
