Support Me

My mom was an amazing woman who started showing symptoms of Huntington's Disease when she was around 35.  She ended up passing away when she was 43, I was 19 and my brother was 16.  It was so hard to watch her abilities, mood and speech decline because of the disease.  I decided to take test and I found out that I have it.  This has definitely been a challenge for me but I have also grown and tried hard to stay positive.   It has been nice meeting other people with Huntington's through this walk and our support group.

There is a lot of really exciting research going on!  With your donations and registration money we can help with that and fund support for the families effected by Huntington's.

Huntington’s disease is a fatal genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. It deteriorates a person’s physical and mental abilities during their prime working years and has no cure.

HD is known as the quintessential family disease because every child of a parent with HD has a 50/50 chance of carrying the faulty gene. Today, there are 30,000 symptomatic Americans and more than 200,000 at-risk of inheriting the disease.
