Subject: I'm back on the trail again (2018 HDSA Team Hope Walk)

The Annual Team Hope Walk for Huntington’s Disease (HD) in the Pacific North West (PNW) will again be happening this September (9/8/2018).   That means I’ll be hitting the trails again to continue my trek up the California coast to ultimately walk to all 21 California Missions.

On May 14, I’ll start in Carmel, CA walking to eight missions:  San Carlos Borromeo de Carmelo, San Juan Bautista, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara de Asis San Jose, San Francisco de Assis, San Rafael Archangel, and San Francisco Solano de Sonoma – approx. 240 miles).  To date, I’ve walked to nine of the twenty-one missions, so after this trip I’ll have completed seventeen missions. That will leave only four more missions to go, which I plan to complete by the end of this year (fingers crossed).   I continue to walk in memory of our son Scott Bradley and grandson Matthew; they both suffered and ultimately passed away from Huntington’s disease.

Huntington’s disease is a fatal genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain.  HD is known as the quintessential family disease because every child of a parent with HD has a 50/50 chance of carrying the faulty gene. Because of this, I will also be walking for my granddaughters, Anna and Emma who are at 50/50 chance of inheriting this disease.

The Huntington’s Disease Team Hope Walk is held to provide awareness, education and funds for HD research and to find a CURE for this devastating disease!

I’m asking you to support my fundraising efforts today by going to my link to donate. Through the research of HDSA, it is our goal to make a cure a reality and create a better life those who are suffering from the disease.  Our personal fundraising goal is $10,000.00

It’s easy to donate; all you need to do is click the “SUPPORT ME” button above.  Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure, but if you prefer you may also donate by check.  Please make checks payable to the “HDSA-PNW (Team Bradley)” and mail it to me at 3901 Prestwick Lane, SE, Olympia, WA 98501 by September 30, 2018.   If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at

With love and gratitude,

E.J. and Art Garner
