Walking with purpose - my family is impacted by Huntington's disease and I've seen first hand the effects it has on both the individual and their families. Please give to help the HDSA achieve their mission to improve the lives of everyone with Huntington’s disease and their loved ones by funding research, support groups, and social work.
Huntington’s disease is a fatal genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. It usually kicks in in middle age, degrading physical and mental abilities for a span of years and has no cure. Some describe it as getting Parkinsons, Alzheimers, and ALS all at once.
The Huntington’s Disease Society of America is the premier not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of everyone affected by Huntington’s disease. From community services and education to advocacy and research, HDSA is the world’s leader in providing help for today, hope for tomorrow for people with Huntington’s disease and their family.
Across the United States, HDSA currently supports:
•54 volunteer led Chapters & Affiliates •29 Centers of Excellence •40 Social Workers •170 Support Groups
