So my little lazy butt is going to walk for hope in honor of my sister Jennifer Jones. Although she may not have been blood, she is just as close to me as my other 3 sisters. It has only been a short time since Jennifer passed this year but I wanted to walk in her memory and raise some cold hard cash to help stop HD in its tracks.
Jennifer fought a long and hard battle with HD and this year she is finally able to rest. She was a fierce warrior who spoke to many groups about this disease including pre-med students and support groups. She served as a Director of the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the Huntington’s Disease Society of America. She even found time to help develop the Peer Facilitator Training Program for HD support groups and develop the STAR Retreat for young at risk people.
Jennifer was an amazing person that has shown me hope, courage and inspiration through everything she did. She was a loving, caring person with a zest for life and had the ability to bring out the best in others. I love and miss her dearly and I only wish I could do more than this tiny gesture. She deserved the world since she had gave so much to those around her and for this cause alone.
I just want to go ahead and thank everyone in advance for the support they will be giving to this cause. It is a rare disease that in the past was not given much attention. But thankfully through the efforts of people like you we can bring more light and testing to this cause.
I love you guys!!! Thanks again.
Also, I am totally going to whore myself out and beg you to pass this along!
And to Jen : This one is for you . I love you and I know you are finally dancing again while you look down on us. Miss you with all my heart.
