Please join us for the Twin Cities Area Team Hope Walk & 5K Fun Run on Saturday, August 4th, 2018!

Be one of the hundreds of participants at the Twin Cities Team Hope Walk & 5K Fun Run, which supports the fight against Huntington's Disease and the search for a cure!

Walkers will enjoy the scenic course and comeraderie, while taking a lap around paved trails that traverse through creeks, wetlands, lakes, and forest.  All participants receive a dri-fit athletic shirt and have the chance to opt into drawings for some awesome prizes. Plus, breakfast tacos await hungry finishers at the finish line! It's shaping up to be another great event this year!

Runners of all endurance levels will enjoy darting through the 5k course. This year, the 5k run will be a fun run format, meaning while there is no chip timing, there will be plenty of good vibes.  A clock will be posted at the finish line for individuals to chart their own result, but no official timing will be kept and posted for the field.  Awards will be given to the top overall male and female finisher.

Whether you walk, run, or push a stroller - come out for a good sweat for a great cause as we support the mission of HDSA to improve the lives of everyone with Huntington’s disease!

Please note that Day-of-Event registration fees increase by $5. We encourage all participants to pre-register for the event.

What is Huntington’s Disease?

Huntington’s disease is a fatal genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. It deteriorates a person’s physical and mental abilities during their prime working years and has no cure. HD is known as the quintessential family disease because every child of a parent with HD has a 50/50 chance of carrying the faulty gene. Today, there are 30,000 symptomatic Americans and more than 200,000 at-risk of inheriting the disease.
