Please join us for the Chattanooga, TN Team Hope Walk on Saturday, November 4th, 2017!

Walk with us as we support the mission of HDSA to improve the lives of everyone with Huntington’s disease! Bring the whole family to enjoy a nice Fall day in Chattanooga's scenic River Park and celebrate the new Erlanger Health System HDSA Center of  Excellence Partner Center.  The walk will begin and end at Shelter #4 at River Park next to the Hubert Fry Center where the walks were held the past two years. Walkers can choose to walk a leisurely, flat one-mile route beside the beautiful Tennessee River or a longer route to the dam and back (approximately three miles). Non-walkers are welcome to mix and mingle at the shelter while others walk.

Enter River Park at the Robinson Bridge Park Entrance and follow the park road past the Hubert Fry Center.  Shelter #4 is on the right just past the children's playground.

Team Hope Walks aim to raise as much money possible in the local community to support the mission and services of the Huntington’s Disease Society of America. There are many different fundraising strategies you may use to have a successful fundraising campaign, and HDSA suggests you use all of them! Please download the Team Hope Walk Participant Packet and check out the Team Hope website’s Fundraising Tips & Tools (including some fundraising webinars!) and Participant Resources sections.

We invite all local companies and small businesses to sponsor this Team Hope Walk. We depend on the generosity of sponsors, and by sponsoring a walk your company will be supporting a great cause as well as engaging in an exciting marketing opportunity within the local community. If your company is interested in sponsoring the walk, please email!

What is Huntington’s Disease?

Huntington’s disease is a fatal genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. It deteriorates a person’s physical and mental abilities during their prime working years and has no cure. HD is known as the quintessential family disease because every child of a parent with HD has a 50/50 chance of carrying the faulty gene. Today, there are 30,000 symptomatic Americans and more than 200,000 at-risk of inheriting the disease.
